Kylie Lipstick Review

Okay. So before I get started I want to point out that I never really had an interest In Kylie Lipstick. I thought all the hype surrounding it was completely over rated and people were just buying it because it was by Kylie Jenner. Boy, was I wrong. Kylie Lipstick is truly an amazing lipstick and I’ve only used it once to try out and I’m already obsessed…hence why I’m doing this impromptu blog post. Here’s the best part. I wasnt even expecting this tonight. My boyfriend came home from work and just put it in my hand. Yup, you read that correctly. I literally held my breath for ten seconds. I couldn’t believe it. Out of no where! So obviously, I had to try it RIGHT AWAY. I had to see if all the hype surrounding Kylie lipstick is true. It certainly is and I’m in love!!

What’s included:

  • 1 lipliner
  • 1 lipstick (Candy K color)

The Lipliner

The lipliner is new to me. I never before applied lipliner before applying lipstick. I wouldn’t say I noticed a huge difference but definitely something different. A beneficial difference. It made for an easier application of the lipstick and allowed me to be more distinct when applying the lipstick. This particular lipliner was greatly pigmented and went on easy and neatly. Literally, takes no practice.

The Lipstick

The particular lipstick color I got was Candy K (I believe this color is also Kylie’s fav) it’s sort of, kind of a naked shade but darker, which I LOVE. Naked can be a washout color if it’s not the right shade of naked. Below is the color tested out on my arm then my lips. But seriously, don’t judge my lips yet. I’ve only used once so far and just as a test run. The first thing I noticed about the lipstick was the SMELL. All caps because the smell is overwhelming but not necessarily in a bad way…it had a warm vanilla sugar, butterscotch scent to it. Some people like that, some don’t. I like it. It went on easy and dried quickly. Only takes one coat and you’re good to go!

So overall, shame on me. Shame on me for thinking Kylie’s lipstick was overrated. I admit it, I was totally and completely wrong. I recommend this lipstick to anyone who is interested in it. You won’t be sorry! King Kylie, nice work girlfriend.

This Weeks Midweek Pick Me Ups

Sometimes or most of the time I should really say, Monday through Friday can be a crazy, stressful few days. If you’re anything like me, you need the little “pick me up” buys to help cope with stress from work. I need to be able to unwind after a long day. Knowing I get to go home after a days work to a hot epsom salt bubble bath with some wine is what gets me through my day. Just knowing that is waiting for me. It’s my serenity. My me time. My come down from the day. Last night, I stopped at Target on my way home from work and picked up a few midweek pick me up goodies that I knew were basically essential to my survival. I know that sounds dramatic but I really don’t care, I mean we’ve all been there. So here’s what I got!

Dr. Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt Foaming Bath.

Of course every girl needs a little wine and Vanity Fair to go with a bubble bath.

Matrix Biolage Color Care Conditioner.

Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid-Lotion Sunscreen.

Hope your week is going well!

For The Love Of Laura Mercier

Happy Tuesday loves! I’m currently at work and the only one in the office this entire week. My boss is out of the country and the office is closed. I’m sort of just here to “man the desk” for the week. And if you didn’t say “man the desk” in your head in Emily’s voice from Devil Wears Prada then we can’t be friends. But any who..The work flow is at an all time low and my adderall and caffeine consumption is at an all time high. So to keep me busy I thought I would take the time to share my love for Laura Mercier since I have yet to share any of my products from her line on here.

Nude Smoky Eye Palette.

Whats included:

  • 1 Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Ground Espresso
  • 4 Eye Colours
  • 3 Brushes

The Tightline Cake Eye Liner is a MUST HAVE. My eyes tend to be a bit sensitive and water almost every time I apply eye liner (which is usually why I never wear it) but with this product I didn’t have an issue! This is the only eye liner I will actually use. I was a newbie to Tight Lining when I first purchased this product and would get frustrated. I was told by a Sephora worker at the time too add water to the brush before applying and I was either adding too much water on the brush at first or it was just my lack of concentration and focus on what I was really doing. Maybe even the lighting.. Tight Lining can be difficult at first but once you get the hang of it you will be a pro! Overtime I got better and better. I now spray the brush with water (very minimally) before actually dipping it into the product and then apply between my lashes. Now it’s like one, two, three and I’m done! Goes on easily, doesn’t run, stays exactly where I put it and is buildable.

The Palette Shadows are all beautiful shades of nude. Nude is always my favorite look when it comes to makeup. Nude is clean, classy, with a little bit of glam, and to me that’s all you need. This particular set includes, Cocoa Brown, Bamboo, Fresco and Buff. All great nude palettes from Laura Mercier. My favorite is Bamboo.

Laura Mercier Repair Oil Free Day Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 15 sunscreen

This product is new to me, I’m talking like a week old kind of new to me. During the summer my skin tends to be a bit more oily and sensitive than usual and I was sick of putting up with it. I knew I needed something GOOD. And with good, there always comes a price tag. A $98 price tag to be exact. Don’t judge me just yet, I had a Nordstrom note! But back to it, this stuff is the real deal. Like I said, during the summer my skin is a bit oily than the norm for me but since using this product I havent had a problem! It’s lightweight and ABSORBS QUICKLY. No unwanted shine or that horrid greasy look left over. Yup, none of that here! It literally feels like you are wearing nothing. I’ve only had for a week and am already in love.

Thanks for reading!

Fourth Of July Weekend

Okay, so obviously Fourth of July weekend was not this past weekend but the one before. But I am finally getting around to sharing some pictures from my weekend. It’s been nothing but work since then which is why I’m a little late sharing the details from the Fourth. It was a great weekend though! My boyfriend and I were up in New Hampshire with some good peeps lake livin’ it up. The weather was GORGEOUS. Not a drop of rain in the forecast. We spent our days cruising around the lake on a boat (very grateful to know people who own boats) we went to a crazy but fun sandbar party, my boyfriend even taught me how to shoot a gun. My inner country girl really came out over the holiday weekend. Just kidding. I, by NO means have an inner country girl. The gun terrified me but it was something I wanted to experience but will probably leave that hobby to my boyfriend from here on out. But I can’t lie, I looked good doing it. And I’m pretty sure my boyfriend will never get the mental picture of me holding a rifle out of his head. I got painfully sunburnt but it has since turned to a tan. But yeah, GREAT WEEKEND. Enough out of me now, take a look at some of my pics!

Summer Beauty Product Go To’s

First, I am talking sunscreen. The absolute most important because not only are sunburns painful but they take a toll on our skin. This Glycolix Elite Sunscreen SPF 30 retails for $28, and yes that is expensive for sunblock but the benefits in this sunscreen is like no other. Key ingredient? Zinc Oxcide. Zinc Oxcide plays a key roll in preventing sun damage and prematures signs of aging..granted I’m only 23 years old but it’s never too early to start caring for your skin. To sum up, this sunscreen is not your typical sunscreen. Yes, it protects your skin from the sun but at the same time it’s doing much, much, more than just that. The antioxidants help keep your complexion healthy and maintain a youthful appearance. Before I began using Glycolix, I was an avid Neutrogena Sunscreen user. Now, I don’t have anything bad to say about the Neutrogena Sunscreen, I still use it from time to time because let’s not lie here, Glycolix is on the expensive side so I tend to use it just on my face and Neutrogena for the rest of my body.

Bumble & Bumble Styling lotion is a product I find myself using more in the summertime than any other season. My reasoning? Well, if you’re anything like me and blessed with crazy thick Italian hair like myself then you know styling your hair in the humid weather can be difficult and a pain in the a**. It’s a light water like lotion that you spray on your hair before exposing your hair to heat. Heat brought on by a blow dryer, flat iron, etc.. It then keeps my hair from being affected by the humidity after I have styled my hair. So don’t let your time go to waste styling your hair to only have it ruined or frizzed from the humidity. Just get Bumble & Bumble Styling Lotion!

And of course no summer Go To list would be complete without bug spray. Especially with all the hype about Zika Virus this year, I have never been more serious about protecting myself from mosquitos. This bug spray is the real deal people. I feel like I am a mosquito magnet but I spent a weekend recently in New Hampshire and when I tell you I left mosquito bite free, I am not lying!! I wasn’t even bothered by the mosquitos, they came no where near me. No bad smell, no skin irritation, no stickiness and 100 percent deet free. It’s a total win. I’ve read nothing but good reviews regarding Ava Anderson so I couldn’t wait to try this all natural bug spray and I was definitely not disappointed.
